Understanding Vinted Parcel Sending: The Core Process
When a buyer purchases an item from you on Vinted, the process of sending the parcel is initiated through the app. Upon confirmation of the sale, Vinted provides you with the necessary shipping information, which typically includes a pre-paid postage label or specific instructions for selecting a shipping method. Your primary responsibility is to package the item securely and dispatch it within the timeframe specified by the buyer's chosen delivery option. This involves ensuring the parcel is the correct size and weight for the selected postage service, affixing the correct label, and taking it to the designated drop-off point.
- Package securely to prevent damage.
- Dispatch within the specified timeframe.
- Use the correct postage label provided.
- Drop off at the designated location promptly.
The platform aims to simplify this by integrating shipping options and tracking directly into the app. Buyers usually select their preferred shipping method during checkout, and this choice dictates the subsequent steps for the seller. Understanding the various postage providers Vinted partners with, such as Evri, Royal Mail, or InPost lockers, is crucial, as each has distinct requirements for parcel size, weight, and drop-off procedures. Failing to adhere to these can result in a parcel being rejected or incurring additional charges, impacting both buyer and seller satisfaction.
The system is designed to offer convenience and clarity, but user error remains a significant factor in delivery issues. Common oversights include misinterpreting postage options, using incorrect packaging, or missing dispatch deadlines. Therefore, a thorough understanding of the entire process, from the moment a sale is confirmed to the point the parcel is successfully handed over to the courier, is paramount for a smooth transaction. It’s not merely about getting the item to the buyer; it’s about doing so cost-effectively and reliably, thereby protecting your seller rating and the buyer’s experience.
Key Stages in Sending a Vinted Parcel
The journey of a Vinted parcel begins with the buyer's purchase and selection of a shipping method. Once the sale is confirmed, Vinted will prompt the seller to prepare the item. This stage involves verifying the shipping details and selecting the appropriate packaging. Many sellers opt for reused materials to minimise waste and cost, which is perfectly acceptable provided the packaging is robust and clean.
The next critical step is printing the shipping label, if one is provided directly by Vinted or the chosen courier. Some services, like InPost lockers, utilise QR codes that can be scanned at the locker itself, negating the need for a printed label. For other services, the label must be securely attached to the parcel. Following this, the parcel must be taken to a designated drop-off point within the timeframe specified by Vinted, which is typically a few working days. Failure to do so can lead to the order being automatically cancelled, potentially impacting your seller account.
Once the parcel is dispatched, the tracking information, usually integrated via the Vinted app, allows both buyer and seller to monitor its progress. This transparency is a key benefit of using the platform's shipping solutions. Upon successful delivery, the buyer confirms receipt, and the funds are released to the seller's Vinted balance. Understanding how does postage work on Vinted is therefore fundamental to navigating these stages successfully and avoiding any complications.
Common Mistakes When Sending Vinted Parcels
The most frequent errors sellers make when sending Vinted parcels stem from a lack of attention to detail regarding postage options and packaging. A prime example is selecting a shipping method without thoroughly checking the associated size and weight restrictions. Many sellers, aiming for the lowest cost, might choose a service suitable for small, lightweight items, only to find their parcel exceeds the limits. This can result in the courier refusing to accept the parcel at the drop-off point, or worse, the parcel being returned to sender with additional charges applied.
Another significant pitfall is incorrect labelling. This can range from failing to print the label clearly, attaching it insecurely so it becomes damaged or detached, or mistakenly using an old label from a previous shipment. The address must be legible and correctly affixed, ensuring the courier can scan and process it without issue. If the label is for a specific courier or locker service, ensuring it's the correct one is vital; using a Royal Mail label for an Evri drop-off, for instance, will cause immediate rejection.
Furthermore, underestimating the importance of secure packaging is a recurring mistake. Items, particularly fragile ones or those prone to damage during transit, require adequate protective materials. Insufficient padding or using flimsy boxes can lead to items arriving broken or damaged, triggering disputes and negative feedback. This oversight directly impacts the buyer’s perception and can lead to claims against the seller. Thinking of how to resell on Vinted effectively means safeguarding the item’s condition throughout its journey.
Packaging Blunders to Avoid
One of the most common packaging mistakes is using inadequate materials. Flimsy envelopes for items that require a sturdy box, or a box that is too large and not filled sufficiently, can lead to items shifting and breaking. Similarly, not using enough internal padding – bubble wrap, packing peanuts, or crumpled paper – leaves items vulnerable to impacts. Always consider the journey the parcel will take and the potential for rough handling.
Another error is the misuse of reused packaging. While environmentally friendly and cost-effective, old shipping labels or barcodes must be completely removed or covered. If a courier’s scanner encounters an old label, it can cause significant confusion and delivery issues. Ensure any reused box is in good condition, with no tears or weakened seams that could split under pressure. The structural integrity of the packaging is non-negotiable for safe transit.
The final packaging mistake is failing to seal the parcel properly. Using insufficient tape or not taping all seams can allow the parcel to open during transit. For heavier items, reinforcing the bottom and all edges with strong packing tape is essential. A parcel that is not securely sealed is a prime candidate for contents to escape or for the package to be damaged, leading to potential loss or claims. It’s a simple fix that prevents major problems.
Labeling Lapses and Their Consequences
Misreading or incorrectly applying the shipping label is a prevalent issue. This can involve placing the label over a seam or edge of the box, making it difficult to scan, or applying it to a curved surface where it crinkles. The barcode must be flat and entirely visible. Some sellers also incorrectly assume that if they've entered the correct details into Vinted, the label will automatically be perfect, overlooking the need for clear printing and secure attachment.
A less obvious, but equally problematic, mistake is using an outdated or incorrect label. This often happens when sellers haven't refreshed their shipping options or have mistakenly selected a service that is no longer available or is unsuitable for the item. If Vinted offers a specific label for a courier, using one from a different courier service will lead to the parcel being rejected at the drop-off point, causing delays and requiring the seller to re-package and re-ship.
The most severe labeling error is misidentifying the recipient or destination due to a corrupted or partially obscured address. While Vinted's system aims to prevent this, a damaged label can render the address unreadable. This is why choosing high-quality labels and securing them firmly with clear tape (without obscuring the barcode) is vital. A clear, correctly applied label is the single most important piece of information for successful delivery.
Choosing the Right Postage Options on Vinted
Vinted offers several integrated shipping options, and selecting the correct one is fundamental to a smooth transaction. The available choices typically depend on the buyer's location and the specific courier services partnered with Vinted in that region. For instance, in the UK, common options include Evri, Royal Mail, and various locker services like InPost. Each service has its own set of parameters regarding maximum parcel dimensions, weight limits, and drop-off/collection procedures.
It is imperative for sellers to understand these parameters before listing an item, ideally by checking the Vinted app or the courier's official website for current guidelines. Many sellers make the mistake of assuming all services are interchangeable, or that a standard postage option will cover any item. This often leads to issues at the drop-off point when a parcel is found to be too large or heavy for the selected service.
The choice of postage also affects the cost for the buyer and the delivery speed. Royal Mail, for example, might offer faster delivery but potentially at a higher cost and with stricter size limits for certain services. Evri often provides more flexibility for larger or heavier items and can be more cost-effective. Locker services, like InPost, offer convenient drop-off and collection points and are great for smaller items, but they have precise locker size restrictions that must be adhered to. Understanding how does Vinted postage work means knowing these variations.
Navigating Courier Services and Their Limits
When a buyer selects a shipping method, the associated costs and service details are displayed. It is crucial to review these details to ensure they align with your item. For example, if you are selling a bulky item, a service like Royal Mail Special Delivery might be unsuitable due to size constraints, whereas Evri might be a better fit. Always check the maximum dimensions and weight for the specific service chosen by the buyer.
The most critical factor is confirming the parcel's dimensions and weight against the courier's stated limits for the chosen service. If your item, once packaged, exceeds these limits, you must inform the buyer immediately to arrange an alternative or potentially cancel the order. Attempting to send an oversized or overweight parcel will likely result in it being rejected at the drop-off point, causing delays and requiring you to re-package and select a different, often more expensive, shipping method.
Consider the drop-off network. Services like Evri and Royal Mail have numerous post offices and parcel shops, offering flexibility. Locker services, such as InPost, have fixed locker sizes and are located in specific, often public, locations. If you choose a locker service, ensure the buyer can access a locker of the correct size, and that you can easily reach the designated locker to drop off the item. This interdependency is key to a successful Vinted transaction.
In-Post Lockers vs. Traditional Drop-Offs
InPost lockers provide a convenient, self-service option. Buyers select a locker size (S, M, L) during checkout, and you, the seller, are assigned a specific locker at a chosen locker bank to deposit the parcel. The benefit is 24/7 access and no need for direct interaction. However, strict adherence to the locker size is paramount; an item that doesn't fit the assigned locker cannot be sent via this method. You will need to carefully measure your packaged item and compare it against the specified locker dimensions.
Traditional drop-off services, such as Evri or Royal Mail, involve taking your parcel to a designated collection point, like a Post Office or a partner shop. This method often offers more flexibility for parcel sizes and weights, as the staff can advise on suitability at the point of drop-off. These services typically provide a wider range of tracking updates and can sometimes be more forgiving with slight variations in parcel dimensions, provided the overall service guidelines are met.
The choice between these options can depend on your personal preference and the buyer's location. If convenience and speed of drop-off are priorities, lockers might appeal. If you are selling larger items or prefer the reassurance of staff verification, traditional drop-off points might be preferable. Always ensure the method selected by the buyer is one you are comfortable and able to fulfil accurately.
Secure Packaging for Vinted Parcels
Secure packaging is not just about aesthetics; it's a critical defence against damage during transit. For clothing, this might involve using a strong poly mailer bag, especially if the garment is delicate or dark and could potentially stain lighter items if the packaging fails. For multiple items, or more robust garments like coats or denim, a sturdy cardboard box is often a superior choice. The key is to prevent the contents from being exposed, torn, or crushed.
When using a box, ensure it is appropriately sized for the items. Overly large boxes lead to items rattling around, increasing the risk of damage, and can also incur higher postage costs if dimensional weight is applied. Conversely, an undersized box can cause stress to the packaging and its contents. Use void fill – such as crumpled paper, bubble wrap, or biodegradable packing peanuts – to snugly fill any empty space within the box. This immobilises the item, preventing movement during transit.
For items that are fragile, such as accessories or even sturdy garments that could be creased or damaged by pressure, extra care is needed. Wrap them individually in bubble wrap or tissue paper before placing them in the box. Ensure all seams and edges of the box are reinforced with strong packing tape. A well-sealed parcel is far less likely to burst open or be compromised during its journey to the buyer. This attention to detail is what helps sellers to resell on Vinted successfully and maintain a good reputation.
What to Use for Packaging Vinted Items
For most clothing items, a strong, opaque poly mailer is sufficient. These are lightweight and come in various sizes. They offer good protection against moisture and tearing. Ensure you choose a mailer that is slightly larger than your item to allow for easy insertion and sealing. If the item is particularly delicate or prone to creasing, like a silk blouse or a formal dress, consider wrapping it in acid-free tissue paper first before placing it in the mailer.
For more robust items, multiple clothing pieces, or accessories such as handbags, a corrugated cardboard box is recommended. Reused boxes are perfectly acceptable, provided they are clean, dry, and structurally sound. Remove or completely cover any old shipping labels or barcodes. Select a box that offers a few centimetres of space around the item for protective padding. Small items like jewellery or accessories should be placed in a small box or padded envelope inside the larger shipping box to prevent them from getting lost or damaged.
Essential packaging supplies include:
- Strong poly mailer bags (various sizes)
- Corrugated cardboard boxes (various sizes)
- Bubble wrap or packing paper
- Strong packing tape
- Scissors or a box cutter
- Tissue paper (optional, for delicate items)
Having a stock of these materials readily available will ensure you can pack and dispatch items promptly after a sale.
Protecting Items During Transit
The primary goal of packaging is protection. For garments, this means preventing them from getting snagged, stained, or excessively creased. For accessories or non-clothing items, it means preventing breakage, scratching, or deformation. Always consider the most vulnerable part of the item and add extra protection there.
Ensure all items are packed snugly. If you are sending multiple items, consider bagging them separately before placing them in the main parcel to prevent colours from bleeding or items from tangling. For items that could be damaged by moisture, placing them in a sealed plastic bag within the outer packaging adds an extra layer of defence. This is particularly relevant for items that might be sent during damp weather conditions.
The final seal is crucial. Use plenty of strong packing tape to secure all seams, especially on boxes. For poly mailers, ensure the self-adhesive strip is firmly pressed down. If you are concerned about the seal, you can add an extra strip of tape along the edge. A well-sealed parcel is a confident parcel, indicating that it has been prepared with care.
What to Do If a Vinted Parcel is Lost or Damaged
In the unfortunate event that a Vinted parcel is lost or arrives damaged, the process for resolution depends on the shipping method used and who is at fault. Vinted integrates tracking for most shipping options, which is the first point of reference. If tracking indicates delivery but the buyer claims non-receipt, or if the item is damaged upon arrival, the buyer should be advised to report this through the Vinted app. Vinted's system is designed to handle disputes and claims.
If the parcel is genuinely lost in transit, meaning tracking has stalled for an extended period or shows no delivery, a claim will typically need to be initiated. For Vinted-integrated shipping, this process is usually managed through Vinted support. They will liaise with the courier to investigate the loss. The seller is generally protected from financial loss if they have followed all Vinted and courier guidelines correctly, especially regarding packaging and dispatch times. However, how does Vinted handle lost parcels can vary depending on the specific courier and the value of the item.
When an item arrives damaged, the buyer should take clear photographic evidence of the damage to the item and the packaging. This evidence is crucial for any claim. They should then submit this evidence via the Vinted app. Vinted will review the case, considering the evidence provided by both buyer and seller, and the tracking information. If the damage is due to poor packaging, the seller might be liable. If it's deemed transit damage, the courier's insurance or Vinted's buyer protection may cover the cost. It’s essential to act promptly when reporting such issues to meet claim deadlines.
Initiating a Claim with Vinted Support
If a buyer reports an issue, your first step should be to remain calm and communicative. Ask the buyer to provide photographic evidence of the damage and the packaging. If tracking shows the item as delivered but the buyer says it wasn't received, encourage them to check with neighbours, their building's reception, or the designated safe place where the courier might have left it. If these steps don't resolve the non-receipt, the buyer should then officially report it via the Vinted app.
When an item is damaged, and evidence is provided, Vinted's dispute resolution process will begin. This typically involves Vinted reviewing the case, including your proof of postage and the buyer's evidence of damage. If the claim is validated, Vinted will usually refund the buyer and arrange for the item to be returned or disposed of, depending on the circumstances. The seller is typically reimbursed for the sale price and postage, provided they met Vinted's terms. Always ensure you have followed Vinted's process for dispatch and packaging.
For lost parcels, the procedure is similar but focuses on the lack of tracking updates. If tracking hasn't updated for an extended period (e.g., 10-14 days, depending on the courier), the buyer should report it as lost. Vinted will then open an investigation with the courier. If the parcel is confirmed lost, Vinted will refund the buyer and reimburse the seller. This underscores the importance of using tracked services and keeping proof of postage, as this is often required for claim validation.
When Vinted Buyer Protection Applies
Vinted Buyer Protection covers items that are lost, damaged, or significantly not as described. If an item arrives damaged, the buyer must report it within the specified timeframe (usually 2 days after delivery confirmation) and provide clear photographic evidence. This evidence should include shots of the item's damage and the condition of the packaging it arrived in, as this helps determine if the damage occurred during transit or was due to insufficient packaging.
For items lost in transit, where tracking shows no movement or delivery for an extended period, Buyer Protection also applies. The buyer would initiate the claim, and Vinted would investigate with the courier. If deemed lost, the buyer receives a refund for the item and postage, and the seller is reimbursed for the item's sale price and postage. It is crucial for sellers to have dispatched the item within the agreed timeframe and used a valid, tracked shipping method as per Vinted's guidelines.
The key to successful claims under Buyer Protection is adherence to Vinted's terms and conditions. This includes using Vinted's integrated shipping options, packaging items appropriately to withstand transit, and dispatching within the specified time. If these conditions are met, Vinted's system is designed to offer a safety net for both buyers and sellers, ensuring that financial losses due to shipping issues are minimised.
Alternatives to Standard Vinted Parcel Sending
While Vinted's integrated shipping options are designed for convenience, there are scenarios where alternative methods might be considered, or where understanding existing alternatives within the platform is key. For instance, some sellers may prefer to arrange their own shipping if they find a courier that offers significantly better rates or services for specific types of items, though Vinted's system typically requires using their integrated options for buyer protection. However, within Vinted's framework, the primary 'alternatives' relate to the different courier services available, such as the choice between InPost lockers, Evri parcel shops, or Royal Mail.
Sellers often overlook the nuances between these options, leading to mistakes. For example, a seller might habitually use Royal Mail for all items, unaware that Evri might be more cost-effective for larger parcels or that InPost lockers are ideal for smaller, easily packaged goods. Exploring how does postage work on Vinted involves actively comparing the benefits and limitations of each integrated courier service. This comparative analysis can prevent issues related to size limits, drop-off convenience, and cost.
Furthermore, understanding what does 'bumped' mean on Vinted or what 'hidden' means on Vinted relates to listing visibility rather than postage, but it highlights how different features within the platform can be 'alternatives' to standard listing practices. Similarly, for sellers looking to maximise their sales, understanding how to resell on Vinted effectively might involve exploring different pricing strategies or promotional tools rather than just focusing on the shipping mechanics. The 'alternative' approach to sending parcels often boils down to a deeper dive into the provided options and their specific use cases.
Comparing Courier Services for Vinted Shipments
When Vinted presents shipping options, it’s wise to think of them as distinct services with different strengths. For instance, Evri often offers a good balance of cost and reach, with a wide network of ParcelShops for drop-off and collection. Royal Mail, on the other hand, is a trusted national postal service, often preferred for its speed and the reliability of its tracking, though sometimes at a higher price point. InPost provides a unique locker-to-locker service, which is exceptionally convenient for both parties if the item fits the locker dimensions and the buyer/seller has easy access to a locker bank.
The trade-off typically lies between cost, convenience, and parcel size/weight allowances. A seller might choose Evri for a bulkier item because it's cheaper than Royal Mail and has more permissive size limits. Conversely, if a buyer needs an item very quickly, Royal Mail might be the only viable integrated option. Understanding these differences allows you to better advise buyers or even influence your own listing choices by specifying preferred shipping methods if Vinted allows this flexibility.
Consider also the drop-off experience. If you have an Evri ParcelShop conveniently located nearby, it makes sense to use that service. If you have easy access to a Post Office, Royal Mail becomes a natural choice. For seamless, contactless drop-offs, InPost lockers are unparalleled, but they require precise adherence to locker sizes. Analysing these factors helps you select the most appropriate integrated shipping method for each sale.
The Role of Vinted Pro and Other Features
While not directly an alternative for sending a single parcel, Vinted Pro offers features for frequent sellers that indirectly impact the shipping process. For example, Pro sellers might gain access to more advanced shipping management tools, potentially allowing for better tracking or integration with other services. Understanding Vinted Pro can be an alternative strategy for sellers who are scaling up their operations on the platform, as it often includes features designed to streamline logistics.
Features like 'bumped' listings or 'wardrobe spotlight' are alternatives for increasing visibility, which in turn leads to more sales and thus more parcels to send. While these don't change *how* you send a parcel, they are alternative methods of achieving sales volume. Similarly, understanding how to cancel an offer on Vinted or how to delete items on Vinted are alternative actions a seller might take that affect the number of parcels they need to send.
The core alternative to using one courier service integrated with Vinted is to use another. The decision between Evri, Royal Mail, or InPost (or other local options) is the primary set of alternatives available to sellers within the Vinted ecosystem for managing parcel transit. Each offers a distinct pathway from seller to buyer, and choosing wisely is part of mastering the platform.
Maximising Seller Success with Vinted Parcel Sending
Achieving consistent success as a Vinted seller hinges significantly on the efficiency and reliability of your parcel sending process. Beyond merely getting an item to the buyer, it involves ensuring the item arrives in the condition it was advertised, within the promised timeframe, and without incurring unexpected costs for either party. This requires a proactive approach to understanding and adhering to Vinted's shipping protocols, as well as anticipating potential issues before they arise.
A key element of this success is customer communication. If there's any uncertainty about postage options, packaging, or dispatch times, proactively informing the buyer can prevent misunderstandings and disputes. For instance, if you're unsure whether a particular item will fit a standard InPost locker once packaged, it's better to confirm with the buyer beforehand or choose an alternative shipping method. This level of diligence builds trust and contributes to positive reviews, which are vital for any seller aiming to stand out.
Furthermore, regularly reviewing Vinted's and the partnered couriers' guidelines on parcel sizes, weights, and prohibited items is essential. These details can change, and staying informed ensures you are always compliant. By mastering the nuances of how to send Vinted parcels correctly, you not only avoid common mistakes but also enhance your reputation as a dependable seller, encouraging repeat business and positive feedback. This meticulous approach is the foundation for sustained success on the platform.
Maintaining a High Seller Rating
Your seller rating is a direct reflection of your performance, and timely, accurate parcel dispatch is a major contributor. Consistently meeting dispatch deadlines, ensuring items are well-packaged, and accurately describing your items are fundamental. When issues arise, such as a parcel being delayed by the courier, transparent communication with the buyer via the app is crucial. Vinted’s system tracks dispatch times, so even if a courier is slow, dispatching on your end within the agreed period is vital.
A commitment to secure and appropriate packaging is paramount. Buyers are more likely to leave positive feedback when an item arrives in excellent condition, reflecting well on your care and attention. Conversely, damaged items or items that don't fit the description due to poor packing can lead to disputes and negative reviews, impacting your ability to sell in the future. This diligent approach to packaging is an investment in your seller reputation.
Finally, familiarising yourself with Vinted's buyer and seller protection policies ensures you understand your rights and responsibilities. Knowing how to navigate issues like lost or damaged parcels, and following the correct procedure through Vinted's support system, demonstrates professionalism and helps resolve problems efficiently, thereby protecting your seller standing.
The Value of Clear Descriptions and Photos
While this article focuses on sending parcels, the success of that process is intrinsically linked to the initial listing. Clear, accurate descriptions and high-quality photographs are the first step in ensuring buyer satisfaction. If an item is described vaguely or pictured poorly, a buyer might have unrealistic expectations, leading to disappointment even if the parcel is sent perfectly. Always be precise about the item's condition, size, and any flaws.
When describing the item's size, especially for clothing, providing measurements (e.g., pit-to-pit, length for tops; waist, inseam for trousers) can be incredibly helpful. This reduces ambiguity and minimises the chances of a buyer claiming the item is 'not as described' due to fit issues. If the item is particularly delicate or requires specific care, mentioning this in the description can also set appropriate expectations for the buyer and can inform their choice of shipping method if they have any input.
Ultimately, the goal is to create a seamless and positive experience from browsing to delivery. By combining accurate listings with meticulous parcel sending, you build trust and encourage repeat custom, which is the hallmark of a successful Vinted seller. The effort invested in accurately describing and carefully packaging items directly contributes to the smooth transit and satisfactory receipt of the parcel.
Frequently Asked Questions About Vinted Parcels
Buyers and sellers often have recurring questions regarding the logistics of sending items through Vinted. These typically revolve around postage costs, delivery times, packaging requirements, and what to do when issues arise. Understanding the answers to these common queries can prevent many common mistakes and ensure a smoother selling experience.
For instance, many users want to know the exact costs associated with different shipping methods. While Vinted displays these costs to the buyer during checkout, sellers should be aware of the general pricing structures of the couriers available to them. This knowledge can influence how items are priced or which shipping options are highlighted as preferred, where possible.
Another frequent concern is the timeframe for dispatch. Vinted typically allows sellers a few working days to send an item. Exceeding this can lead to order cancellation. Therefore, sellers should always be prepared to pack and dispatch promptly after a sale is confirmed. Familiarising yourself with how does Vinted postage work, including typical delivery times for each integrated courier, is key to managing buyer expectations and ensuring timely delivery.
How to send a Vinted parcel
To send a Vinted parcel, first, ensure the buyer has completed their purchase and selected a shipping method. Vinted will then provide you with shipping instructions, often including a pre-paid label to print or a QR code for locker drop-offs. Package your item securely, adhering to the size and weight limits specified by the chosen courier. Affix the label correctly or have your QR code ready. Finally, take the parcel to the designated drop-off point (parcel shop, post office, or locker) within the timeframe specified by Vinted.
What happens if I don't send a Vinted parcel?
If you do not send a Vinted parcel within the timeframe specified by the platform, the order will typically be automatically cancelled. Vinted may also impose penalties, such as temporarily restricting your selling privileges or affecting your seller rating. This is to ensure buyers receive their items promptly and to maintain the platform's reliability for all users.
Can I use my own postage for Vinted?
Generally, Vinted requires sellers to use their integrated shipping options for purchases made through the app. This is to ensure that tracking is automatically updated and that both buyer and seller are covered by Vinted's buyer and seller protection policies. Using your own postage outside of the Vinted system usually voids these protections and is therefore not recommended for standard transactions.
How long does Vinted postage take?
Delivery times for Vinted parcels vary depending on the courier service selected by the buyer and the destination. Standard integrated services like Evri or Royal Mail typically take 2-5 working days for domestic deliveries. Locker-to-locker services, like InPost, can also be very efficient. Always check the estimated delivery time provided by the courier within the Vinted app for the specific option chosen by the buyer.
What if the parcel is too big for the locker?
If your packaged item is too large for the assigned InPost locker, you cannot send it using that method. You must contact the buyer immediately through the Vinted app to explain the situation. The buyer will then need to cancel the current order and re-list the item, allowing them to select a different shipping method that accommodates larger parcels, such as Evri or Royal Mail, and you will need to re-package if necessary.
